“The Count of Monte Cristo“ Movie Review （基督山伯爵－－电影观后感） Imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit, torn away from his family and his fiancée, Edmund spends 15 years locked away in a damp prison, most of which is spent learning fighting and survival skills from a wizened old criminal, played with gentle humor by Richard Harris. Meanwhile, Fernand and Mercedes marry (that always happens in romance novels) despite the fact that she never got over her love of Edmund. The plot thickens with Edmund’s escape from prison and his secret reemergence as the dashing, and wealthy, Count of Monte Cristo. The fight scenes are amazingly fluid, swordplay seeming to come naturally to both Guy Pearce and Jim Caviezel. The film also features a humorous performance from the talented Luis Guzman as a man devoted to the Count/Edmund. While some of the lines used in both the prison scenes and the “buddy“ scenes between Guzman and Caviezel are a bit unbelievable (there occasionally seems to be a tad too much of the new millennium in the way they speak), most of the scenes are true to the times and the scenery and sets are authentically breathtaking.

I definitely wouldnt say it was better than the first Despicable Me,the first one was a lot more heartwarming,but it still is a very good sequel and has everything you want in a family film,humor for both young and older audiences.
However,the story of the movie feels very scattered and throughout I felt like they were trying to fit too much in one hour and a half. I still enjoyed it nevertheless!

This film was absolutely amazing. I have spent hours re-watching various scenes and noticing all the perfection with which they are acted and directed. Its not the violence or action sequences that make this movie so great (although they are well done...), but rather moments like where Mathilda knocks on Leons door. It would be so easy to just film the door opening, but instead we see light illuminating Natalie Portmans face, symbolizing something angelic. And the moment has so much more meaning.
I know a lot of people who have seen this film because they are action fans. Im not. But Im glad I finally found it, because its a wonderful film in so many other ways.

Pride and Prejudice was an absolutely fantastic film. A great cast, and Keira Knightly did an excellent job and Matthew Macfadyen was a wonderful in the role of Mr Darcy. The cinematography was so ridiculously good, there were some fantastic shots and the costumes were also fantastic. The script was fairly good, it is true to the classic by Jane Austen, Mr Wickam could have made more of an appearance, and had a striking resemblance to one Orlando Bloom. The movie moved fairly fast but trying to fit such a novel into two hours had to be hard anyway, so I say well done to all involved, as such a beloved book can be a hard project to take on, but after watching it I really can’t wait until to see it again!!!
